What’s So Special About Spring Skiing?

As winter retreats, the ski season reawakens in Steamboat with a sun-kissed twist. Ditch the parka and pack your sunscreen! The mountains grow warm, and the snow takes on a whole new texture. But don’t worry- that doesn’t mean that the quality of the ski slopes goes down. In the spring, you’ll get to enjoy a whole new skiing experience with lots of features that you’re sure to love, including the spring’s signature “corn snow.”

Thanks to the melt-freeze cycle, you get to ski in new snow textures, such as “corn snow.” Corn snow is some of the best snow for carving turns. This makes every run exhilarating!

The stunning landscape becomes a lot more comfortable as the weather warms and the atmosphere becomes quiet. Warmer weather means you get to spend more time outside. Smaller crowds means shorter lift lines and fewer disruptions! Altogether, this means you’ll get to savor the slopes without any hassle! You can race down your favorite runs over and over again.
