Snowbasin and Sun Valley Are Going Epic!

February 6, 2019

On Feb. 6, 2019, Vail Resorts announced that both Snowbasin Resort and Sun Valley Resort have joined the Epic family.

Now, when you plan a trip to Utah, you’ll be able to ski Park City and nearby Snowbasin all in one epic vacation.

Epic Pass Details

Like most resorts on the Epic Pass, Snowbasin and Sun Valley will have a limited number of days available for skiing. Depending on the pass type you get, you’ll have differing access to the resorts. The restrictions are as follows:

  • Epic Pass — if you purchase the full, unrestricted Epic Pass, you’ll get seven days at both resorts without any restricted days
  • Epic Local Pass — Local pass holders receive two days of skiing at each resort with a few restrictions (generally big holiday weekends)
  • Epic 7-Day  Pass — with this pass option, riders can use all seven days (or four days, with the 4-day pass) at either resort without restriction.

Snowbasin and Sun Valley are icing on the cake of Vail Resort’s impressive — and growing — list of partner resorts. As of now, Epic Pass holders have access to 30 different European resorts, five resorts in Japan, seven days at the Canadian Rockies resorts, seven days at Telluride, and unlimited access to 20 or so other resorts throughout the western United States.

About Snowbasin

Long-heralded as the local’s best kept secret in Utah, Snowbasin is known for its accessibility, service, lifts, grooming, and terrain. It’s the whole package — and it averages 300 inches of snowfall a year. Located just 40 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport and about 45 minutes from Park City, Snowbasin is a great option for a day trip or full-blown vacation.

About Sun Valley

Sun Valley is one of the country’s oldest ski resorts, and one of the few located in the Idaho Rockies. It’s known for being far less crowded than other resorts (especially ones in Colorado) and for having an array of activities beyond skiing and snowboarding. While the local airport is small, there are usually direct flights from San Francisco, Seattle, LA, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Chicago.

Enjoy these two additions to the Vail Resorts conglomeration and be sure to check out Snowbasin the next time you’re in Park City!
