When an event or festival turns 50, you know it’s about to be a big celebration and it must be fun if it has been around that long. In Park City, UT, the 50th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival is taking place on August 1-4th. Wonder down to historic Main Street as the arts festival gets lively and is a great time for all ages.
The Art Starts Here Gala begins on August 1st from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Kimball Terrace on Main Street. It is an innovative event that may also inspire you to appreciate the importance of art. Live auction items like mingling with the New York Rangers in their locker room after a game, as well as an Argentina and Uruguay vacation, and custom artwork are just a few of the incredible auction items.
Have kids with you for the arts festival? Check out the variety of children's activities happening over the few day event. The Studio on Main is a creation station for kids where they can create a memorable Arts Fest souvenir. For $7, a project can be created and that includes artist supervision, supplies, and a piece to take home!
On Friday, August 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m. is Tiny in 2D where you can paint your own masterpiece on an 'itty bitty' canvas. Also enjoy making clay creations where molding a clay cup with texture for your personal touch.
On Saturday, August 3rd experience making a watercolor postcard at Postcards from Park City. Commemorate your experience at the Arts Festival and be creative with watercolors. You can also create Travel Journals to record thoughts and sights.
On Sunday, August 4th from 11 a.m. 5 p.m. is printmaking and upcycled art. Create a custom block print using your own drawing or design, and then for upcycled art, reuse materials for a creative project.
